Soil Science Group

School of Resource Management

The soil science group is based at the Parkville campus of the Institute of Land and Food Resources. Our aim is to improve management of soil and water resources through high quality research and teaching. The group is headed by Professor Robert White. There are currently four academic staff, three research (and visiting) fellows, one technical officer and six full time post graduate students.

Our research strengths are in the areas of soil chemistry and soil physics with particular emphasis on nitrogen and phosphorus transformations in soil from microcosm to catchment scales.
